The UN laid out 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015, which were launched as of 1 January 2016. The ambition of these global goals is to create a more peaceful, prosperous and ecologically sustainable world until 2030. Many companies in the world, NGOs and public institutions have signed up to this initiative and their number is further increasing. Also smaller companies, individuals and start-ups have swiftly found a way to play their role. Have a look below to find out which SDGs we focus on.
SDG #5
Conflict and instability fuels gender-based violence. During the peak of the ongoing conflict in the Congo, the UN estimated that 15,000 women a year became victims of sexual violence. This is an all too common phenomenon across conflict zones. Preventing violence means preventing violence against women.

SDG #8
Peace and stability lie at the heart of any country’s path to prosperity. Without peace, no country can prosper economically, socially or culturally. Decades-long efforts evaporate if a country or region falls back into instability. We try to prevent that from happening. Proactively and passionately.

SDG #16
We build lasting peace together with the local communities, not just on their behalf. We consider the strongest institutions to be strong communities themselves. But we also work together with national and international authorities to achieve lasting peace way beyond our projects on the ground.
